huckabee fundraiser

Here's a small video my friend Dane took at the Huckabee fundraiser we both attended last week in Owosso, MI. The whole event was extremely exciting.

Huckabee doesn't have a chance at all to win the presidency. If you want to check out a real candidate with real values, check out Hillary Clinton. You won't be disappointed.

I am a democrat throughout every square inch of my body. However, I am not naive, I know that Hillary Clinton will not become the next president. In fact, if it's between her and a republican candidate, the republicans could actually win...People will not vote for her just because she is a woman, they won't even care if she has every quality they want in a president, some people are just that dumb and sexist. I think she would be a great president, just like her husband...but I don't think she can win, just like Obama. If the democrats want to win this upcoming presidential election, just pick John Edwards and forget about it. The democrats know he is a good solid candidate, not to mention he's a dixie-crat, meaning hes from the south (North Carolina I think is considered the south because of the heavy accent). When he goes on TV to debate in the few months before the election, people will hear that accent, which will get a lot of southern voters (most of which are republican) to vote democrat. And, he will still keep all his northern democrat supporters just because he is a good solid candidate who's not afraid to do what's necessary for the country, even if that means a tax increase. Cutting government spending sometimes isn't the answer, lowering budgets of different departments can be bad, especially for health departments. I mean once we get out of that hellhole (Iraq), and start rearranging the budget slightly, and maybe adding a little more tax, we might just be able to pull out of this 9 trillion dollar debt...

The words "Hillary Clinton" and "values" should never be used in the same sentence. If your idea of values is a Communist America then by all means go right ahead. People like Hillary are leading the charge into the battle of converting America into a S-P shit hole. Huckabee is going to make an amazing president and there is no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't turn this country around, and head back to where it came from. Good ol' fashioned American Traditionalism, which is exactly what we need. =)

why the fuck should americans take another chance on a dipshit republican...i know all you people were like Bush is a smart guy...hes just not good at public speaking and all that bull shit...What the fuck is going right for America right now? Why in gods name should we elect another republican after what the last one did for us?

because we're looking at the issues and not just labels?

dear Mr. F-bomber

Woodrow Wilson suppressed free speech during World War I, while Franklin D. Roosevelt interned 120,000 Japanese-Americans in World War II. Democrats have done some pretty awful things themselves, so I suggest you re-consider your evaluation of republicans. Just wait and see in 10 years when you'll be thanking Bush for his decision to fund the program that lands an American astronaut on Mars.

bush is keeping the troops in Iraq prisoners too....congress tries to pass bills to bring them home but Bush vetoes the shit out of the bills. Who wouldn't fund the space program to Mars? And if you say Hillary Clinton or Obama, I dont care because i dont like them anyway...John Edwards is the man

Bush has only vetoed 2 bills in his entire presidency, the S-CHIP bill regarding health care and a water works bill with a crap load of pork in it. clearly, you don't actually know anything about politics. quit letting your emotions get in in the way of facts.

then where I heard that bush vetoed a bill to bring the troops home must have been misinformed or confused the idea the he would have vetoed that kind of a bill anyway, because if he wants to keep funding the war, he obviously needs the troops there. It still doesnt change the fact that he is keeping the troops in Iraq fully knowing nothing that they cannot stop whats going on there. He is just too proud to admit he was wrong...

I doubt that his pride is keeping the troops in Iraq. The troops are still in Iraq because the job isn't done yet, and its congress who wont fund the war, not bush. The only way to get them out of there, is to fund the war, supply our troops and make it easier for them to get the job done as quick as possible. People keep saying to pull the troops out and think its as easy as that. If we were to pull out now Iraq would fall right back into the hands of terrorist groups and all our efforts would go to waste. We can pull out of Iraq when a stable democracy is installed and they can begin to defend themselves. As Mike Huckabee said "setting a timetable for withdrawal tells our enemies they don't have to win, they just have to wait. We have never in our history declared war until "a week from Wednesday," we have always declared war until victory."

the way I see it, bin laden has said that Iraq is their central front on the war against America and that their idea of victory is us leaving Iraq. why would any American support handing them what they, in their own words, call a victory?

MeetUp last night in Troy was about get-out-the Vote.
Please pray for me, I have 80 calls to make this weekend.
My Sample Script:
Hi, I AM _________ from Clarkston and I'd Like Mike to become President. Are you a Huckabee supporter?
- If "YES"
- Do you plan to vote for him in Tuesday's primary?
- Would you be willing to forward this one other to vote?

(Fact Sheet)

Only one candidate is consistent on Life. This issue drove him to run for president. Everyone else has taken money from the abortion lobby, flip-flopped been compromised in some way, but not Gov. Huckabee.

None of the top candidates have supported marriage, defined as one man and one woman like Mike. Not only choosing a covenant marriage relationship which does away with no fault divorce, getting it into law rolling it out to the citizens of his state and then set an example by renewing the vows of marriage between Janet and Mike with hundreds of other couples. Mike knows the important job of fatherhood, and protects their right in raising children. He has never apologized for his faith values.

Alone in his proposal for a health prevention plan, he walks the talk.

Mike Huckabee is the point man for the Fair Tax which would do away with the IRS. He can relate to the heavy burden taxes place on working families. He understands that when taxes are raised, people suffer through a bad economy. He cut out-of-control spending and supports a balanced federal budget.

We can trust Governor Huckabee he will stay with us on “OUR” issues.

May we ask one more person to vote for Mike Huckabee who would be willing to ask another one to vote?

“The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

Oh God, not the gay marriage issue. I would have to think that God wouldn't care if two homosexual people got married or not, people violate the idea of marriage all the time (Las Vegas), but its still legal there (along with prostitution ;-O ). Why is it so wrong for two people who love each other to get married...I know it violates a 2000 year old book made of whatever people wanted to put in it and not put in it. Its just not fair that that a man and a woman can get married, sometimes without being in love, and get all the benefits of being married (usually with jobs, retirement, health care...etc). That goes on all the time, but why can't two people who ARE actually in love get married. If it doesn't affect how I have to go about my daily life, WHY DO I GIVE A FUCK? And no, seeing two guys or girls kiss in public is not "affecting my life." Why don't we just go back to the years when gay people were murdered and hanged? Would that make you all and Huckabee happy? That way, it wouldn't ever come up again! And you know, the most hypocritical thing about all of this is that guys, religious or not, are praying (metaphorically) to see 2 girls kiss. So pretty much, guys won't mind that as long as the girls are pretty, but if they're ugly, oh no, thats illegal! I would really hate to be a homosexual, even in the United States because of narrow minded people that love to interfere with other people's lives when it has no effect on their own whatsoever.
